ISI Activities in the Upper Juniors
Victorian School Room Victorian Beach Composing Music Our role play area is based on a Victorian school. We have lots of fun acting out scenes from the Victorian era. We enjoy acting out the role of the teacher the best! We worked together to design and build a Punch and Judy tent. We also made puppets. Here we are acting out a scene from Punch and Judy. We have been listening to Victorian music and using our ICT skills to compose our own music. Vehicle Timeline Making photo frames Parrallel Circuits We worked as a team to order a set of vehicles from old to modern. We looked at different features of the vehicles and used these when designing a futuristic form of transport. We have been using our DT skills of sawing and measuring to design and make photo frames for our Victorian portraits. We have been investigating different types of circuits to find out which circuit would be best to use on a motor car. Cooking Creations Creative Collage Cross Stitch As part of our DT and Science studies we designed and cooked our own bread based products. We spent a lot of time cutting and sticking to create a range of collages after looking at images of St Lucia. We have learnt a new cross stitch technique and produced a range of tea coasters. Castle board games Junk castle Clay modeling We had to come down to the ict suite and read infomation on castles and we made our own castle board games. We got togeather some old cardboard boxes and other peices of card and paper and started modeling our own castle. We had to draw an idea of a greek pot and then we had to model our pot and cooked it and then we waited for it to cool.
Fun with Circuits Fairground Madness Welsh Role Play We had lots of fun making motors and using them to spin fairground rides. To make a circuit you need crocodile clips, wires, batteries and a motor. In this activity we have to practice building fairground rides. First of all you have to think what you want to build. Next you collect all the materials / pieces you need. Then you put them together to create a ride. Dw i'n hoffi Gymraeg! We enjoyed acting out our welsh conversations. We had to use sentences like... Ble wyt ti'n byw? Faint ydy dy oed di? Helen dw i. Myths and Legends Lighthouse Investigators Computer Challenge Welcome to our role play area. We have designed it all ourselves. First we had to design it on a piece of paper then we drew it onto cardboard. Next we painted the castle and cut it up. Finally we made masks and props. This activity is fun because you can learn how to make a lighthouse light flash on and off. We had to use a series circuit and build our own switch. This activity is good because it involves our ict skills! it helps us to learn to type faster and click faster so thats why its fun and important!

We had lots of fun using natural materials to create shields. We found wooden planks, twigs, sticks and a range of leaves and stones. |
We also made shields inside these are some of the materials we used: cardbored, straws, cotton fabric and much much more! |
In ISI in the role play area we had to design a clay pot. After we desgined our pots we had to make them. We had to shape them with our hands then draw patterns on them and wait for them to dry. It was a fun activity I really enjoyed it.
