Cadle Eco-group
2005 saw the launch of the Cadle Eco-school project. Each year voting takes place (Y2 to Y6) to elect 2 members from each class to form the basis of an Eco-committee. Other committee members are then invited to join the group including Mr O'Brien, teachers, an L.S.A., a parent governor, the caretaker and Mrs Roberts from the community farm. The whole school helped complete an Eco survey from which an action plan and Eco code were formulated. | ||

The Eco-committee asked the governors for permission to ban smoking and dogs from the school grounds as they felt it was a health problem. In a joint meeting the school's governing body and the Eco-committee agreed that it would be a good thing to do and the Eco-committee wrote to parents to ask for their help with the ban. This decision, along with a walk to school campaign, helped the school to achieve its phase 4 healthy school award.
WELL TO EVERYONE INVOLVED! |
